Staff Pick of the Month: Burning Sky, Raspberry Provision, Fruit Saison, 6.2%, 440ml
Beer of the month - September 2024
Chosen by: Chris, Manager at The Epicurean Beep People, Heaton Moor Shop.
Beer Style: Foudre-aged Saison, with Raspberry.
ABV: 6.2%.
Beer Description: This is a raspberry version of Burning Sky’s most famous beer, Saison de Provision. They are mainly known for their Saison’s, but their Pale Ale, Arise is also a popular one (and one of my faves).
Appearance: Rose/Blush in colour, VERY lively, with a thick, rocky pink head.
Aroma: Spiced raspberry jam.
Flavour: Starts sharp and acid, with vibrant tart raspberry. Finishes very dry with lovely oak notes.
Mouthfeel: Very light, crisp, dry and tart with lots of stable carbonation.
Food pairing: Quite dry and sharp so would suit rich, fatty foods like pork belly or creamy cheese pasta.
Notes: I loved this, normally a huge fan of Burning Sky’s Saison’s and this didn’t disappoint.
Brewery description:
This iteration of our flagship mixed fermentation farmhouse beer was aged in Foudre No.1 for five months, before further ageing on oodles of fresh raspberries. A riot of sweet berry juiciness and balanced acidity make this a proper summer crusher!
