Old Schaarbeekse Kriek Boon is crafted using 250 grams of Schaarbeekse cherries per litre. These distinctive Belgian cherries blend the gentle, tart notes of lambic with a pronounced yet harmonious cherry flavour, finishing with a smooth, rounded aftertaste. An extra six months of maturation in oak barrels enhances its complexity, delivering a deeply rich tasting experience. Although the cherries are now sourced from various Belgian regions, they retain the Schaarbeekse name, originating from the eastern Zenne valley in Schaerbeek, where this premium cherry variety was historically harvested and prized by lambic brewers.
